During the holidays it may be hard and may even seem impossible to still maintain your weight loss or to stay on that program due to the holiday pressure, stress, temptations and more. However, there is a way to still stay on track with your weight loss and enjoy all the holidays without feeling guilty later on. Here are some things you can do. They include:
- control portion sizes (just eat a little bit of everything)
- Avoid overeating
- Take skin off chicken or turkey for fewer calories
- Serve vegetables instead of casseroles or fruit salad instead of cakes or pies
- keep up a regular exercise routine (window shop while you walk)
- Build a snowman or play board games instead of eating a second helping
- modify recipes with healthier ingredients
- drink plenty of water before meals so you will eat less
